Our goal is simple –
make behavioral health better by making companies in the space better.

At ABAops, we believe people who need behavioral health services will benefit most when the clinics and companies dedicated to those services operate efficiently and profitably without sacrificing excellence. This balance can be hard to strike. For example, many practitioners have substantial clinical knowledge, but know little about running a business. And companies who offer products to help those practitioners often don’t understand the day-to-day headaches of being a therapist.

That’s where we come in.

We help clinical practices, companies and organizations in behavioral health grow, market, operate efficiently, navigate regulatory and legal regimes, hire new staff, manage existing staff, acquire, be acquired, merge and tackle many other operational challenges. Ultimately, our efforts are dedicated to helping our clients produce impactful results for neurodiverse people.

And, with an extensive network including some of the greatest and most influential minds in the field and experts in various complimentary disciplines (e.g. human resources, accounting, finance and legal), ABAops can serve as a one stop shop for companies of every shape and size.

About Stephen

Stephen Donaldson

Stephen has spent nearly all of his professional life starting and growing small companies in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and behavioral health – including a stint as a frontline therapist working directly with neurodiverse people.

In 2010, Stephen co-founded DataFinch Technologies, Inc., creator of Catalyst, an industry leading data collection platform for ABA practitioners. In his time at DataFinch, Stephen served as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel. In 2018, DataFinch was acquired by Therapy Brands and is now part of a larger network of ABA-focused companies seeking to provide an end-to-end solution for providers.

In 2020, after helping DataFinch transition fully into the Therapy Brands portfolio, Stephen joined Floreo, a company building virtual reality lessons to help neurodiverse people with communication, social, independent living and emotional regulation skills. At Floreo, Stephen served as the Vice President of Enterprise Services where he was responsible for clinical and educational market growth and professionalizing the related processes to sales, marketing and support. He also helped Floreo navigate a successful Series A fundraising round through 2021 and 2022.

Since 2019, Stephen has managed ABAops where he has helped clinics, individual practitioners, investors, and companies in the behavioral health space with operational challenges, strategic growth, fundraising, and process optimization.

Stephen holds a Juris Doctorate from the Washington & Lee University School of Law, a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science from Berry College. He has been a paid speaker and presenter at numerous national and state-wide professional conferences and sat on the boards of both an ABA clinic and a SAAS company.
